MDF frame with a clear PS plastic front, a clay impression panel and a back stand.
Knead, press, leave to dry
Knead the clay for two or three minutes until it's soft, roll it flat, and gently press in a hand and a foot.
Leave it to air-dry for 24 to 48 hours, then set it into the frame.
Prints on one side, photos on the other
The clay sits in a window about 15.2 x 11.5cm, big enough for a newborn's hand and foot together. Two square windows of about 6.8cm hold a pair of photos beside it.
The finished frame measures about 27.9 x 23.5cm.
A quiet afternoon in the first fortnight
Rain on the roof in Melbourne, baby asleep after a feed, someone holding a tiny foot steady. Ten minutes at the kitchen table and that week is kept, at its real size, for good.
On the shelf or on the wall
There's a fold-out stand on the back for a dresser or shelf, and hangers for the wall.
The clay also takes a paw print, if the dog or cat is part of the family too.
